Melinda Burns <\/strong>is a status member of the Lower Mohawk First Nation. She is the daughter of a Mohawk mother and an English father. Her short stories, essays and poems have appeared in The New Quarterly, Grain, The Fiddlehead, Canadian Notes and Queries, Native Skin, <\/em>and One Art.<\/em> Her essay, Legacy, <\/em>was a finalist in the 2023 Prism International Creative Non-fiction contest. Melinda lives in Guelph, Ontario. She writes to try to understand this life without destroying the mystery; to excavate, untangle, set free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melinda will read from her new collection, Homecoming <\/em>(Bookland Press, 2025.) <\/em>These poems, arranged according to the Medicine Wheel, gracefully span her childhood, marriage, divorce, parenthood, and parents’ aging, as well as her journey to reclaim and celebrate her Native heritage.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enid Osborn<\/strong> has lived in Santa Barbara, California for 45 years, and served as city Poet Laureate in 2017-2019. Her work has appeared in SALT, Askew, The Delta Review, Silver Birch Press, SB Literary Journal, Blue Mesa Review,<\/em> and several Gunpowder Press anthologies. She co-edited A Bird Black as the Sun \/ California Poets on Crows & Ravens <\/em>(Green Poet Press). Her first book, titled When the Big Wind Comes<\/em> (Big Yes Press), takes place in Southeast New Mexico, where her family raised quarter horses. In addition to poetry, she writes songs, stories and reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
