She is the daughter of a Mohawk mother and an English father. Her short stories, essays and poems have appeared in&nbsp;<em>The New Quarterly, Grain, The Fiddlehead, Canadian Notes and Queries, Native Skin,&nbsp;<\/em>and&nbsp;<em>One Art.<\/em>&nbsp;Her essay,&nbsp;<em>Legacy,&nbsp;<\/em>was a finalist in the 2023 Prism International Creative Non-fiction contest. Melinda lives in Guelph, Ontario. She writes to try to understand this life without destroying the mystery; to excavate, untangle, set free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Melinda will read from her new collection,&nbsp;<em>Homecoming&nbsp;<\/em>(Bookland Press, 2025<em>.)&nbsp;<\/em>These poems, arranged according to the Medicine Wheel, gracefully span her childhood, marriage, divorce, parenthood, and parents&#8217; aging, as well as her journey to reclaim and celebrate her Native heritage<em>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Enid Osborn<\/strong>&nbsp;has lived in Santa Barbara, California for 45 years, and served as city Poet Laureate in 2017-2019. Her work has appeared in&nbsp;<em>SALT, Askew, The Delta Review, Silver Birch Press, SB Literary Journal, Blue Mesa Review,<\/em>&nbsp;and several Gunpowder Press anthologies. She co-edited&nbsp;<em>A Bird Black as the Sun \/ California Poets on Crows &amp; Ravens&nbsp;<\/em>(Green Poet Press). Her first book, titled&nbsp;<em>When the Big Wind Comes<\/em>&nbsp;(Big Yes Press), takes place in Southeast New Mexico, where her family raised quarter horses.
