Santa Barbara is a thriving creative community which includes poets and poetry lovers of all kinds. Santa Barbara even has its own poetry press, Gunpowder Press, which includes local poets in its Shoreline Voices series.

- Poetry Reading Celebrating the Publication of SALT, Issue 8, February 20A reading from the latest issue of the journal SALT featuring many of the Central Coast poets in Issue 8. The event, hosted by Laure-Anne Bosselaar and SALT editor Christopher Buckley, will be on Friday, February 20 at 5 pm at the Unity of SB Chapel, 227 E. Arrellaga St., Santa Barbara.
