The celebrated, award-winning poet Tim Seibles, Poet Laureate of Virginia Emeritus, will come visit Santa Barbara after giving readings in Los Angeles for Poetry Month. Hearing him read is a truly unique experience—there’s such energy, warmth, wisdom, and true humor in what he writes. His poems go straight to the heart! And such tenderness. The poet and critic Cornelius Eady said of him: “When the world grows nostalgic, he swings real. When the world tuns bitter, he stretches out his arms in verse. When the world tries to deny, he stares it in the face and tells the truth. Then asks it for a dance.”
Monday, April 13, 5 to 7 pm
at the Unity Chapel, 227 E. Arrellaga Street
Laure-Anne Bosselaar, host of the event, will read 3 or 4 poems by other poets she loves, then let Tim take over.
Please donate $5 to cover the rental of the space.
