Santa Barbara is a thriving creative community which includes poets and poetry lovers of all kinds. Santa Barbara even has its own poetry press, Gunpowder Press, which includes local poets in its Shoreline Voices series.

- Lowstate Writing Salon. Prompt will be lead by Trish Fancher. Start thinking of cycles, seasons, beginnings that are also endings. Bring paper, pens, your friends.

- Blue Whale Reading, featuring poets Melinda Palacio and Diana Raab. Followed by limited open mic. Hosted by Christine Kravetz & Laure-Anne Bosselaar.
