Poetry on the Plate: Celebrating an Anthology of Poems about SB Food & Drink, May 11

At the Black Sheep, current Santa Barbara Poet Laureate and Santa Barbara Independent Food Writer George Yatchisin will discuss A Feast for Santa Barbara: Poets Celebrating Food & Drink, the just-published poetry anthology from Gunpowder Press about food and drink in Santa Barbara County. The volume features over 100 poets ranging in age from sixth-graders to a 95-year-old. Yatchisin will be joined in conversation by Krista Harris, the founding owner/publisher of Edible Santa Barbara and one of the poets in the collection. Three other writers in the collection will read their poems.

Following their conversation (which will include a Q&A) we’ll adjourn for a reception and book-signing, where guests will enjoy a light dinner from The Black Sheep celebrating Julia Childs (Salad Niçoise in a potato boat, Quiche Lorraine, Coq au Vin drumsticks, Ratatouille in a pastry shell, Boeuf Bourguignon skewer, Cauliflower florets gratin, Tomatoes Provençal, Profiterole) and wines provided by Pali Wine Co. Every attendee will receive a copy of the anthology.
